Special Offering: Intro to Storytelling!Do you write, but wish to bring your words to life? Have you dabbled in performance of another kind (acting, standup comedy, etc) but wish to incorporate more of your true-life experiences into your work? Do you simply want to feel comfortable speaking in front of other people, with no desire to become a performance artist of any kind? Then look no further, storytelling just might be for you.
In this class- you will learn how to: 1. Pick a true story from your life (many of which you never would have even considered using before). 2. Structure your stories in an organized and entertaining manner that best highlights their content. 3. Discover the motivation/purpose behind each story (what do we want the audience to gain from knowing this?) 4. Practice incorporating your own personal style- highlighting your own sound and personality, as opposed to sounding more like everyone else. Click HERE to secure your spot! |
Special Offering: Long-Form Intensive with Rich Talarico!Improvisers! Did you ever come off stage and say “Great scene, who were we?” Or, “Great scene, where were we?”
WHERE? WHO? WHAT? HOW? WHY? WHEN? Crucial questions in storytelling. Often one or more of these important questions can be left unaddressed in an improv performance. “THE SIX QUESTIONS" is a class Rich has been teaching for 10+ years in LA (at UCB and iO) and at improv festivals and theaters around the US and Canada. Learn how Improvisers play WHERE (object work) WHO (point of view/character) WHAT (games/playable dynamics of scene) HOW & WHY (the gift givers) and WHEN (dealing with time, linear and shattered narrative, etc.) Join Rich Talarico, a 30+ year improv vet and alumnus of The Second City and Improv Olympic, as he leads this special 2 day intensive workshop that will leave you with many tools to create organic characters and worlds instantly. The workshop will be held in the Third Coast theater on Saturday, July 2nd from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 3rd from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a one hour break for lunch both days. There will be an online meet and greet over Zoom on Saturday, June 18th at 2 p.m. open to all to ask questions and discuss what you want to get out of the class! Click HERE to secure your spot! |
