Why We Need You
Third Coast has always been more than just a comedy club — we're home to Nashville's comedy community. For nine years, we've been the place where local comedians find their voice, where artists connect with audiences, and where strangers become friends over shared laughs and good (and cheap) drinks.

Now, we’re asking that community to step up in a big way.

a letter from the founders
Hello Third Coast Fans and Family,

Eight months ago we held an urgent town hall during a stressful season for Third Coast. It was stress we hadn’t experienced since the Covid pandemic. During the community Q&A we shared the challenges of our search for Third Coast’s next home following the development that our current Marathon Village landlord would not be renewing our lease. This landlord decision put the future of your theater in jeopardy and left us working non-stop to find a workable path forward.
Our community stepped up in some huge ways assisting with donations, funding ideas, and loan pledges. In total we’ve so far raised $13,881 from over 100 donors and received over $509,000 is loan pledges (which would have been used towards a downpayment of the funeral home purchase).
Cut to the immediate aftermath of that meeting: several lease negotiations with properties around town fell through. Then, we identified a dream property: a funeral home in East Nashville. During discussions the owner of the property pivoted from a lease opportunity to wanting to sell the property! That materially changed our approach. We followed our dream and spent the next few months attempting to raise capital through investors to secure enough for the downpayment and subsequent renovations. Unfortunately, we were never able to come up with the required funds.
With the clock still ticking, we pivoted to once again looking for a new location to lease. We first secured an extension at Marathon and leaned into yet another search. And now? We’re excited to announce we’ve finally found a great location and landlord! And we can now, finally, ensure Third Coast’s existence and growth for years to come!
Third Coast Comedy Club will be crossing the river and moving to East Nashville on Dickerson Pike and into the former Good Wood retail space, next to our soon-to-be neighbor, Retrograde Coffee. Our goal is to be in the space by the end of this summer!
Because it’s commercial real estate, It’s not all laughs.
There will be a substantial amount of buildout costs to create the new home, a home that will include multiple stages, classrooms, an expanded bar and schedule (11am-close, daily). The estimated costs are over $450,000 and we’ll need the help of our community and Nashvillians to help make this dream a reality.
How can you help? Be sure to follow up on socials and help get the word out when we launch our crowdfunding campaign.
We appreciate all of the support and encouragement you’ve given over this past year. Especially those of you who were actively trying to support your families, like, if you had a family with like two boys. And maybe one was named Henry Elam.
Now that the hard part of finding the new property is complete we can move on to the fun part: designing the dream. Stay tuned…
Yes And,
